How to stop smoking successfully

You will always do what you want to do!  You have choice even though you may not think you do. Want will trump need. You don't need to smoke. But you do because you want to - at some level. Remember a problem now was once a solution. If you started to smoke as a teenager, it was important to be accepted by your peers so smoking was the glue/gel to bond together, to rebel as teenagers. But you are mature now and being mature means being responsible for yourself and not influenced by others. But the part of the subconscious mind which developed the smoking habit unfortunately does not mature as you do. With hypnosis (a relaxation technique) you can access this part of your mind BUT you must want to stop. Part of the process is why you want to stop and this is why hypnosis is so effective in helping people stop smoking. It is about you gaining knowledge and therefore power to understand why cravings occur and how they are to be welcomed as a sign that the nicotine is leaving your body, how to deal with stressful situations where previously you reached for a cigarette and how to practice being free from cigarettes. Whenever there is conflict between imagination and will; imagination will always win. Hypnosis gives you inner calmness and to give power to the desire to stop smoking so this is what the imagination will revert to – the smokefree, calm you.
When thinking about stopping smoking in hypnosis we must create energy for the "want" part of you that wishes to stop smoking. A desire so strong it is backed up by the imagination so will power is not necessary.
Decisions without action are worthless.  In the past when you have thought about stopping smoking, you probably envisaged the misery, the pain that you would suffer and indeed, this is probably what occurred.  This time with hypnosis the difference is the focus is on the good things you will experience, feel, see, hear as a result of stopping smoking.  As a hypnotherapist I help you to tap into this aspect of your mind. You have all the resources you will ever need to stop smoking. Isn't it time you decided to take control of your life rather than being controlled by a little white stick?
